ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAINS YOGA
Welcome, my name is Eleanor.
I am a Social Worker, Yoga Teacher and trauma sensitive yoga facilitator. Yoga has been a part of my life for 15 years. Throughout that time I have explored and experienced different styles of yoga, parts of the practice, philosophy and theories.
I am at my happiest when I am learning, I truly love to explore new research, ancient wisdom and everything in-between. And through this enquiry I offer a practice that is grounded in research, honouring cultural heritage whilst applying theories from my professional background as a Social Worker and my ongoing studies in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have a particular interest in the nervous system and embodiment and as such my study of this area plays a significant role in my offerings.
I believe that yoga has something to offer to every body. Whether you are looking to strengthen your body, gain flexibility, clarity of mind or simply try something fun and new, you are welcome here.
My teaching is based on values of inclusivity, respect and empowerment. I offer a space where you may wish to cultivate body awareness, connecting the body and breath or explore philosophy. All of my classes are informed by my professional experience and qualifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga. My classes can offer a space to connect to with yourself, on a level that you chose.
You are welcome, in any way you chose.
Connection. Community. Curiosity
"Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self, through the self"
